¡@¡@The
"Doors to Diplomacy" competition has enabled us to learn
to become responsible global citizens through the making of our
web pages. The topic of "Say No to Tobacco" has brought
together our common understanding of promoting health and environmental
protection. The results did not come easily; they were compiled
painstakingly. The progress report is the witness to our growth
through this project.
¡@¡@To paraphrase
what the competition committee said, the most important things
for this competition are the process, the attitude, and methods,
and the performance of the team working on the research project.
The end report is only one of the ways to show the results of
a series of research activities. A successful research project
not only contains unique creativity and ideas, but it relies even
more on solid research spirit. Writing the progress report has
become an important link of the project.
¡@¡@We
look at the progress report also as a management tool, as it constantly
audits the progress and results of our team, and it provides us
with the basis for discussion. Each progress report is like a
record that accompanies our growth, and it has witnessed our research
footsteps from beginning to finish. When we look back on this
experience years from now, the progress report will bring back
vividly all the clear images that had become a part of our permanent
memory.
¡@¡@Therefore, we are writing the
progress report as if we are writing a journal, which faithfully
keeps track of the progress of our team members, as well as recording
what we have seen and heard, so we could keep up with the changing
world. This research project has completely captured the making
of our research, making it a journal that we wish to share with
others.
¡@¡@In order
to share the process of our research with our friends in other
countries during the international competition, we had translated
the topic of each report into English with our limited English
ability. We had asked the parent volunteer to correct the mistakes
in our translation, so when our friends abroad saw the web pages,
they would be able to see and understand the entire process.
